Hello all! I'm back ... for a little while, until my brother returns home again! *eyeroll*

---

While reality buffs may feel they're in heaven, it's a hellish scenario for admirers of "Grey's Anatomy," "30 Rock" and other scripted shows.

Oh, God, why! Why!?! Please stop the writers' strike now. Please?

---

Right before dinner, we got this call from Con Edison in which someone with an accent (that I couldn't understand at all) was trying to explain something about merging and discount on bills to me. I tried every excuse in the book, including "I'm the daughter!" "My dad's not home!" "My mom doesn't speak English!" and "I don't know my family's native language well enough to translate this to her!" and the fuckers still wouldn't let me be! Finally, after I asked them for written information (as in a letter, so I wouldn't have to deal with them), they told me to visit their website and they would call back on Saturday. What the hell?!

That phone call took like 15 minutes! My food was cold and gross when I finally got to the table.

I understand that it's their job, but at least learn when to give up...

---

I just remembered how beautiful the soundtrack to Amelié is... GUH!

Yay, welcome back!!!

"You could imagine a future that has so much reality that the nation clamors for scripted content because it seems so fresh and new after all the reality content they've seen," he said.

Personally, I reached that point six or seven years ago...

I sympathize. I hate telemarketers. Especially the ones that call and wake me up on Saturday mornings and seem surprised that I'm rather angry (and not at all in the mood for a sales pitch).

Yeah, I reached that point with the onset of "Survivor." I've never once a single reality show and I'm already sick of it. Doesn't that say something about how crappy they are?

They weren't even telemarketers! They were some company that merged with ConEdison and therefore was giving a discount - I have no freaking idea, to be honest with you. All I know is that they annoyed me.

Ouch, Saturday mornings... That's when you hang up the phone and then disconnect it! :D

Telemarketers are why my phone's ringer was turned off for months. I missed a few real calls, but sleeping in was worth it. :-)

I hope those are 'Haha's' of fear...

You know if the strike continues, PD is going to off air quite soon (I think it only has about 2 more episodes to go...) *gulp*

Yes. They're also the kind of laugh where you realize you're so fucked that all you can do is laugh. Once again, goddamnit television.

Nooooooo. D:

I don't even watch a lot of TV (only about 3 or 4 shows that I try to watch religiously), but the fact that they're taking away my beloved shows (some of which are already in jeopardy of being cancelled) and then replacing it with reality TV (which I HATE with the passion of a thousand fiery suns) just hurts. I'll hope with you that strike ends ... like yesterday! :D

Yeah, the phone call kind of really sucked! Thanks for your sympathy! ;)

*sings* Strike, strike, go away. Please come back no other day...

Haha. Yeah thanks. It was sucky. But patience? Probably was just scared that they'd call back angry! :D

LOL. Well, I'm sure you got your message across!

This guy's called me before and I told him to call back when the parents are home and he has. I can't think of any excuse to make him permananently stop calling so I just may have to do it your way next time!

I hope the strike settles soon with a good compromise, but the key word is SOON. Namely, before the shows run out of eps and we're left with hiatuses (hiatae??) that might break shows like SPN or new shows like Pushing Daisies. *bites nails nervously*
